Also known as rose bamboo or flower bamboo. It grows slower than traditional lucky bamboo canes, with closely spaced leaf bracts on elongated canes with slight, graceful bends and arcs. Each lotus bamboo has thick, dark green, lush foliage that opens like a rose as the cuttings take root and grow. This foliage grows and unfolds in layers, creating the appearance of a palm tree from a side view, and a lotus blossom when observed from the top.
SUNLIGHT: Moderate to bight indirect sunlight
WATERING: Likes to be moist but not wet and soggy. Water less in winter and more in spring and summer, around 1 to 2 weeks apart.
HUMIDITY: Likes high humidity, misting every few days can do the trick. Or you can place the pot on top of a tray of pebbles with water. As the water evaporates, it provides the plant with humidity.
FERTILISER, PLANT FOOD, SOIL CONDITIONER
Fertilise monthly in spring and summer to encourage growth and NONE in winter. In the colder months, this plant generally hibernates. Therefore, feeding with fertiliser won’t make it do much.
We use Munash organics with our plants and kokedamas as their products are gentle to the plants, plus they are ORGANIC! With the plant food, every 2 months is all you need to do.
Soil conditioners such as Seasol, is also good to use during the growth season. Therefore, using it fortnightly when you water the plant is also good.
These care instructions serve as a guide only. The conditions in every home is different such as light, humidity, draft, heat, etc. and you know your home better than anyone else. These all affect the health and condition of your plants. We advise that you do a little bit of research about it prior to purchasing them.
