Also known as baby rubber plant. Its leaves look and feel like succulents, however, it is not.
One cool thing about this plant is that it helps purify the air and helps decrease the concentration of formaldehyde in the air! Plants really are amazing!!
Place in bright indirect light. Direct sunlight can damage the leaves by burning them.
Water only when the kokedama is a little light and dry. Do not leave it to be too dry though like there is nothing in it. It can tolerate it a little but do not leave it to be bone dry. Overwatering, however, causes the roots to rot and it is fairly hard for the plant to recover.
Water every 2 weeks in the warmer months (in summer check weekly especially in warmer days and may need watering weekly) and monthly in winter.
FERTILISER, PLANT FOOD, SOIL CONDITIONER
Fertilise monthly in spring and summer to encourage growth and NONE in winter. In the colder months, this plant generally hibernates. Therefore, feeding with fertiliser won’t make it do much.
We use Munash organics with our plants and kokedamas as their products are gentle to the plants, plus they are ORGANIC! With the plant food, every 2 months is all you need to do.
Soil conditioners such as Seasol, is also good to use during the growth season. Therefore, using it fortnightly when you water the kokedama is also good for this plant.
These care instructions serve as a guide only. The conditions in every home is different such as light, humidity, draft, heat, etc. and you know your home better than anyone else. These all affect the health and condition of your kokedama. We advise that you do a little bit of research prior to purchasing your kokedama.
